Westinghouse tv firmware hack3/7/2024 I'll be honest, so long as I don't have to plug the TV into the internet I don't really care what it's capable of. Adjust the TV for the best compromise between the two. You will need to contact Westinghouse support. Smart TVs can do it over Wi-fi or a lan connection. Most TVs can update their firmware through a USB port in the back or a memory card slot. And yet they don't have the grunt to draw a reasonably nice looking and responsive (to input that is) UI. Over the years the driver boards got gradually faster and faster and now have enough raw computing horsepower to run something like a Netflix client in addition to the display proper. Plus from the manufacturer's perspective, why have a ton of oddball board revisions when it's all a common architecture anyways in both hardware and software? Even the megabuck commercial production monitors (with pricing somewhere around 'decent used car' to 'if you have to ask') will have fairly elaborate software for things like multiple custom hardware LUTs, digital signage, remote control/monitoring, etc. Once on-screen picture controls became a thing in the 90s (or even earlier for pro production monitors like the Sony BVM/PVM), a 'TV' has just been an embedded PC with a large permanently attached display. It's arguably been impossible to buy a 'dumb' TV for a good 20 years at this point.
